- Comment: Hello! I am sorry to reject this draft for a fourth time, but the only sources here are from the Orlando government, a tourist website, and a fishing website of dubious reliability. To pass, this article needs multiple sources with significant, independent, reliable, and secondary coverage. Hope this helps. Charlotte (Queen of Hearts • talk) 01:18, 8 October 2024 (UTC)
- Comment: There is currently a redirect from the title of this draft. If this draft is accepted, the redirect should be deleted by an administrator when the draft is accepted, because the hatnote at the top of this page will take its place. AFC Reviewers: If you are accepting this draft, please tag the redirect as {{db-afc-move}} or with Twinkle as G6. AFC move. Please leave the redirect alone unless you are accepting the draft. You may ask about redirects and hatnotes at the Teahouse. Robert McClenon (talk) 07:39, 23 July 2024 (UTC)
- Comment: Sources must meet WP:SIRS, i.e reliable, verifiable, and independent of the subject. The New York Times wasn't about this Park, and the other sources if not the government's website are unreliable. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 18:28, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
Frederick Park, also known as Bill Frederick Park, is a state park located in Orlando, Florida..[1][2] Frederick Park spans 183 acres alongside Turkey Lake, which is one of the top-five rated fishing lakes in Florida.[1][2] The park opened to the public in 1978.
Frederick Park was named after former mayor of Orlando, Florida, Bill Frederick. Bill Frederick was the 30th mayor of Orlando. He served as mayor from 1981 to 1992.
Frederick Park is located at 3401 South Hiawassee Road, Orlando, FL 32835.[2]
Drone Zone
editThe city of Orlando has recently installed power to its own dedicated Drone Zone[1]. This makes Frederick Park one of the safest places to practice drone flight in Orlando. Many new drone pilots frequent the Drone Zone in order to practice flying.
Fishing
editWhile Frederick Park hosts Turkey Lake, there is no swimming in the lake. If visitors would like to swim there is a large pool overlooking the lake. Instead of swimming, visitors use the lake to fish, either from the fishing pier or by renting a fishing boat.[3] During stable weather, bass will be most active in the lake, either along grass edges or in schools in the open water.[3]
Events
editFrederick Park hosts annual cultural events including the annual Orlando International Dragon Boat Festival and Asian Cultural Expo every October[4]. This event is free and offers guests opportunities to explore and experience various Asian performances, crafts, and exhibitions[5]
Frederick Park also hosts frequent Storytime in the Park, where the Park Naturalist and Orange County Libraries share stories for children in the park.[6]
