editGreyB was originally founded on June 26, 2006, by Deepak, Chakshu, and Avneet as Echo Mirror. The firm developed tools and technologies for companies in the intellectual property (IP) sector.[1]
Later, it relocated from Gurgaon to Chandigarh and was rebranded as GreyB in 2008, with its headquarters established in Singapore. The company later expanded its operations to Gurgaon and the United States.[2][1]
In 2009 GreyB received ISO 9001:2008 certification for quality management.[3]
In 2022, GreyB became a founding board member of the Global IP Alliance.[4]

editIn July 2017, GreyB formed a strategic alliance with PatSnap, a global Intellectual Property Analytics company backed by Sequoia.[7]
In May 2019, GreyB released a patent trends study across 12 patent-intensive industries in collaboration with Kilpatrick Townsend, an American multinational law firm.[8]
GreyB also published a preliminary report containing a detailed 5G standard essential patents (SEP) analysis in cooperation with Amplified.[9] The report led to muliple news stories talking about participation of American and Chinese companies in 5G technology, Bloomberg[10], CNBC[11], IEEE[12], Telecoms[13]
