HashKey Group was founded in 2018 to drive the adoption of digital assets and blockchain technology across Asia. The Group quickly positioned itself as a key player in the digital finance ecosystem by adhering to a "compliance-first" approach and setting the standards in the emerging field of Web3 and digital assets.[4] HashKey Group is a digital asset financial services group offering a range of products and services, including a regulated exchange, custody solutions, brokerage, venture capital, asset management, and node validation services.[3][5]

In 2023, HashKey Group successfully closed a Series “A” financing round, raising nearly $100 million at a pre-money valuation exceeding $1.2 billion.[3] The round drew participation from existing shareholders and prominent new investors, including leading institutional investors and strategic partners in the Web3 industry. The funds are allocated toward expanding HashKey’s Web3 ecosystem, diversifying its licensed services in Hong Kong, and supporting global compliance initiatives. [3][5]

HashKey Group is a company offering a broad range of services within the digital asset industry. HashKey Exchange operates as Hong Kong’s first licensed virtual asset exchange app, providing a secure platform for trading digital assets. HashKey Capital is a global asset management arm focusing on blockchain and digital asset investments, known for early investments in technologies like Ethereum.[5]

HashKey Cloud provides blockchain node validation services, supporting over 50 major public chains, with expanding services that include Ethereum Layer 2 and the Bitcoin Lightning Network. HashKey Tokenization enables traditional assets to be represented and traded on the blockchain. [5]

HashKey NFT specializes in supporting Web3 projects through PFP (Profile Picture) incubation and community-building services. HashKey Brokerage offers block trading services for professional investors, with advanced technology and risk management to support seamless transactions. HashKey DID provides a decentralized identity service in the Web3.0 framework, using an NFT-based system for identity management across blockchains, including registration, authorization, KYC, and credential issuance.[5][6][7]

Finally, Tokyo Hash, established in 2018, is registered with Japan’s Financial Services Agency and provides crypto asset exchange and lending services under Japan’s Payment Services Act.[5][7][8]

HashKey secures regulatory compliance across its operational jurisdictions. In Hong Kong, HashKey Exchange holds Type 1 and Type 7 licenses from the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), enabling it to provide fully compliant virtual asset trading services.[2] [5][7]
