Kung Fu Panda 5 is a potential upcoming American animated comedy film produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Universal Pictures. It is the fifth film in the Kung Fu Panda franchise, and the sequel to Kung Fu Panda 4 (2024).
Production
editBefore the release Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011), then-DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg stated in 2010 that it was possible that the Kung Fu Panda franchise could become a six-film series.[1]
In May 2024, following the critical and commercial success of Kung Fu Panda 4 (2024), director Mike Mitchell suggested that a fifth film could happen, but it would likely not be until at least 2027 due to the lengthy production process.[2]
