What we are needing here is truly independent coverage at significant length, not passing references, not routine job announcements based off press releases. So the [{WP:GOLDENRULE]] and ideally three such examples. Not interviews either. So something like a profile in a newspaper / magazine that wasn't generated by PR or interviews. Lawrence Tallon is a British healthcare executive who has served as chief executive of the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, the United Kingdom regulator for medicines and medical devices, since April 2025. He succeeded Dame June Raine, who led the agency until 2019.

Before joining the MHRA, Tallon was deputy chief executive of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. He has also held senior roles in the Department of Health and Social Care and other healthcare organisations.

Tenure at the MHRA

Clinical trials and regulatory modernisation

Tallon has overseen the implementation of new clinical trial reforms. These reforms are intended to support faster assessment and risk-proportionate regulation.

During his tenure at the MHRA, a new MHRA-NICE streamlined pathway was introduced, intended to accelerate access to medicines in the UK.

Medical devices and regulatory certainty

Under Tallon’s leadership, the MHRA has continued reforms to the regulation of medical devices in the United Kingdom, including proposals aimed at improving patient access to medical technologies and reducing regulatory duplication.

In 2025-26, the MHRA published proposals and consultations aimed at improving patient access to medical devices and reducing regulatory duplication, including a consultation on longer-term recognition of CE-marked medical devices, which Tallon said responded to industry requests for greater certainty and reduced friction.

Artificial intelligence in healthcare

Tallon has spoken publicly about the need for regulation to keep pace with the adoption of AI in healthcare.

Under his leadership, the MHRA has also taken part in international activity on the safe use of AI in healthcare, including participation in a global network.
