Kour.io

edit

Kour.io is a multiplayer 3.D. multiplayer FPS game built released in 2022. Kour.io was released to provide the gaming market a gameplay experience that would normally require a stronger systems with downloads or a fee to play. Commonly known to be the successor of Krunker.io by FRVR, Kour.io gathers 400,000 users a day, contributing to the browser gaming industry.[1]

Since the decrease in the prominence of games like arcade games, browser games in entirety have been gaining an upward trend. [2] After Kour.io's beta release in November 2023, the playerbase grew exponentially fast [3], largely due to members of the Krunker.io community leaving due to a new release.[4] Kour.io has released a number of different events, including Easter [5] and Halloween events.

Kour Engine

edit

Kour Engine is a web-based application launched by Legion Platforms within the Kour.io game. Through the Kour Engine, players can edit, create, and publish maps and other game assets for others to use.[6]

KourStrike.io

edit

Kourstrike is a Kour.io spinoff, developed shortly after the Kour.io release. Kourstrike was designed to bring Counter Strike: Global Offensive for browser players to play without requiring high processing power.[7]

KourZone.io

edit

Like KourStrike, Kourzone is a Kour.io spinoff that was released near the same time of KourStrike and was designed to mimick Fortnite, a popular battle-royale game made by Epic Games.

Foodstars.io

edit

Foodstars was one of the first developed games created by Legion Platforms. It is a 2-D Battle Royale game, resembling games like MiniRoyale.io, where last player stands wins [8]. This game was developed as an experimental game by Legion.

Plundur.io

edit

Plundur.io was an early experimental project by the Legion Platforms team. Plundur was developed using Krunker's KrunkScript editor, and was hosted under Krunker.io's servers. Plundur.io is a pirate game, set completely in the water and consists of a third person and fast paced action shooter playstyle.[9]

Controversy

edit

Kour.io has gained a lot of allegations based on authenticity of its products, most notably in Kour.io

Shortly after it's beta release, many members of the Kour community started to question if Kour.io derived any content from any of its "predecessors", including Krunker.io. Both games have been proven to be similar, but stolen assets have not been confirmed by any source.[10]

Legion also has countered allegations towards stolen domain names, particularly Kour.io. However, there are no confirmations or sources of Legion stealing or rightfully owning the domain.
