Muhammad Siddique Abid (Urdu: محمد صدیق عابد), known by his pen name M S Abid, is a Pakistani lyricist and poet. He is renowned for his poetic works, which have been performed by prominent singers such as Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Badar Miandad, Allah Dita Lone Wala, Lakhwinder Wadali, and the Nooran Sisters. Over the years, M S Abid has written hundreds of songs in Punjabi, Urdu, and Hindi, and is recognized not only in Pakistan but also in India, particularly in the Punjab region.

Early life and career

M S Abid was born in 1971 in Faisalabad, Punjab, Pakistan. He went to a government high school in Ghulam Muhammad Abad, Faisalabad, where he first became interested in writing poetry.[1] Although he only completed his education up to the 10th grade, his love for writing songs and poetry never stopped.

During his teenage years, Abid started writing songs and poetry. His big break came when he began working with famous singer Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. One of his first songs, Kabbeh Wali Gali Vich Yaar Da Mukaan,[2] became quite popular and marked the start of his career in music. This collaboration with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan helped Abid make a name for himself in the music industry.

His work soon gained recognition, and he began writing for other famous singers as well, including Badar Miandad, Lakhwinder Wadali, and the Nooran Sisters. He became known for his ability to write songs in Punjabi, Urdu, and Hindi, which helped him build a strong following in both Pakistan and India.
