Michel Roccati (born 26 June 1991) is an Italian-German Athlete and Entrepreneur who became the first person to regain mobility in his legs and walk following a complete spinal cord injury.[1]
Biography
editIn 2017, after a motorbike accident, Roccati had a complete spinal cord injury.[2] In 2020, he took part to an innovative experimental biomedical clinical trial called “Stimo” led by Jocelyne Bloch and Grégoire Courtine. After the surgery, he gradually gained the control of his lower limbs and started to use his legs again.[3]
Sport achievements
editIn 2023, Roccati became the Italian champion of paracanoe.[4][non-primary source needed]
