Early Life and Education
editBorn in Iraq, Alsamari came to the United States as a refugee after spending four years in the desert camp of Saudi Arabia, initially settling in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania before moving to upstate New York. Driven by a commitment to education and self-betterment, she pursued her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a Master of Science in Elementary Science Education from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. She also holds a Master of Arts in Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix, and she is working on getting her doctorate degree in education. Early in her career, Alsamari worked as a teacher, curriculum coordinator, and principal, roles that shaped her understanding of leadership in education and set the stage for her current career.
Career
editNagham Alsamari’s career is marked by key milestones in both education and leadership consulting. She began as an elementary teacher, later advancing into school administration, where she played a pivotal role in curriculum development and staff training. Her commitment to supporting her team on a broader scale led to her promotion to principal, where she continued to enhance educational quality and team dynamics.
In 2023, she founded Imkan Leadership Development to expand her influence beyond the school setting, offering leadership coaching, speaking engagements and training to varying organizations and conferences.

editAlsamari’s expertise centers on resilience-building, DISC personality assessments, and leadership coaching, with frameworks designed to empower leaders and teams. Her unique approach includes the Live, Organize, Block framework, offering practical guidance for balancing work and life, and Come to TYRMs with Challenges, a dynamic session that turns obstacles into growth opportunities by helping leaders “train their resilience muscle.”
