Nightwing Intelligence Solutions, LLC is an American government services contractor headquartered in Sterling, Virginia.[1] The company provides cybersecurity, intelligence, software engineering, systems integration, and mission support services to agencies of the United States federal government, including organizations within the Department of Defense and the U.S. Intelligence Community.[2]

Nightwing was established in April 2024 following the divestiture of the Cybersecurity, Intelligence and Services (CIS) business from RTX Corporation, creating an independent company focused on national security, intelligence, and cyber operations.[3]

Formation (2024)

Nightwing traces its origins to the Cybersecurity, Intelligence and Services (CIS) business of Raytheon, which became part of RTX Corporation following the 2020 merger between Raytheon Company and United Technologies Corporation.[3]

On April 1, 2024, RTX completed the sale of the business, establishing Nightwing as an independent government services contractor specializing in cybersecurity, intelligence, and mission support for U.S. government customers.[3]

Leadership (2025)

In February 2025, Bob Coleman was appointed chief executive officer of Nightwing, succeeding John DeSimone.[4] Coleman had previously served on the company's board of directors. Earlier in his career, he founded Integrated Data Systems, which was acquired by ManTech in 2003, and Six3 Systems, which was acquired by CACI in 2013. He later served as president and chief operating officer of ManTech.[4]

Acquisition of Roka Security (2025)

In March 2025, Nightwing acquired Roka Security, a cybersecurity company headquartered in Herndon, Virginia. Roka Security specializes in cloud engineering, infrastructure-as-code, secure networking, and managed cybersecurity services. Following the transaction, Roka Security became a wholly owned subsidiary of Nightwing.[5][6]

Capability Maturity Model Integration appraisal (2026)

In January 2026, Nightwing announced that it had received a Level 3 appraisal under the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) framework for its government and intelligence services operations. The appraisal was conducted by CommandTec.[7]

Operations

Nightwing provides cybersecurity, intelligence, software engineering, systems integration, data analytics, and mission support services for agencies across the United States government.[1]

The company's operations include cyber defense, cyber operations, intelligence analysis, software and application development, digital modernization, systems engineering, and mission integration. Its customer base includes organizations within the Department of Defense and the United States Intelligence Community.[1]

Nightwing organizes portions of its cybersecurity work through its CODEX division, which develops offensive and defensive cyber capabilities. According to company vice president Jon Check, research conducted by offensive security teams is used to inform the development of defensive cybersecurity products and services.[8]

The company's High Consequence Missions division supports intelligence, cyber, software engineering, and systems integration efforts for national security customers. Nightwing also maintains a Strategic and Peripheral Engagements organization responsible for program management and customer engagement across government and commercial markets.[9][1]

In January 2026, Nightwing announced a partnership with ProCustom Group to provide rugged laptop computers preloaded with its Boot Shield and Electronic Armor cybersecurity software for government and defense customers operating in austere environments.[10]
