Draft pages dont work on app

[edit]

I’m trying to edit about 4 film articles on my phone because my laptop isn’t working. But I cannot use draftspace on my phone. Please do not move the rest of my new articles to draftspace. Give me some time and a fair chance to work on them! Thanks. --Cinemaniac86TalkStalk 04:52, 21 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Cinemaniac86 I won’t move anymore (was just moving unsourced articles that hadn’t been edited in the past hour to draft space). I’m truly sorry for any inconvenience. EaglesFan37 (talk) 05:15, 21 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for understanding! It's quite difficult, not gonna lie, to work this way, but easier than on the browser on my phone at least. Hopefully I can go to the library and refine the one you drafted, unless you can move it back for me? But again, thanks for letting me work on these. I will try to get sources for each of them ASAP. --Cinemaniac86TalkStalk 07:52, 21 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Cinemaniac86 Sorry for the late reply. For the articles I had draftified, it’s probably best to leave them in the draft space for now until they are more developed. Articles can remain in draft space for as long as it has an edit in the past six months, so you’ll have plenty of time for your current tech issues to be resolved (hopefully). If not, I can make a token edit to preserve the draft at that time. EaglesFan37 (talk) 05:06, 25 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

rejected profile

[edit]

Hi EaglesFan37, Could you help me better understand why the profile of Baltimore Museum of Art Director Asma Naeem was rejected? I wrote the original and revised it with AI which got the first rejection, then undid all of those edits to revert back to the original. Everything I wrote is factual and substantiated by a third party source. I want to get this right, but am not seeing what I did wrong. Can you give me some specific examples? I'd really appreciate your guidance. Artbma-anne (talk) 16:41, 24 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

The This draft is a biographical article about Asma Naeem, an American museum director, curator, and art historian who has served as the Director of the Baltimore Museum of Art since 2023. The subject meets Wikipedia's notability guidelines through significant coverage in multiple independent sources, including The New York Times, Johns Hopkins University, Smithsonian publications, and major academic presses. I am submitting this article with a conflict of interest and have avoided promotional language. The content is based entirely on third-party sources. I welcome any edits or suggestions that would improve neutrality, sourcing balance, or concision. at the beginning was what caused me to flag it as AI. EaglesFan37 (talk) 16:49, 24 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for getting back to me. Did you look at the entry about Asma Naeem? It was not written by AI. I have reviewed it again and fixed the broken links. I work for the Baltimore Museum of Art and I have never created a Wiki entry before but trying my hardest to make it neutral and follow all the guidelines. Other than the intro is there anything else that needs to be fixed? Artbma-anne (talk) 22:41, 24 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Artbma-anne You should declare a COI on this article on either your user-age or on the article with Template:COIN-notice. If you remove the intro and do that, you are welcome to submit it again, although I'm not sure if it meets WP:GNG. EaglesFan37 (talk) 22:46, 24 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Admins not using the bit

[edit]

The VPP discussion you started here got archived before I saw it (or your ping that notified me). Of course, I was only notified because I chose a username that started with one of the first three letters of the alphabet! :-) But that post by you coincided with a period of unexpected more-than-usual inactivity (I usually check in about once a month). Really, I wanted to thank you for starting the discussion. It is interesting to see how views on this both change and stay the same over many years. For my part, I do harbour hopes to become more active as an admin again once day, but am focusing on staying active as an editor first. I have long said that there should be a way to encourage inactive admins to return to activity, but have never thought of anything myself that would actually work... (as I have also said before, that is likely because the reasons for inactivity vary and are often specific to that person). Carcharoth (talk) 01:36, 29 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Carcharoth Thank you so much for your response! I'm also glad to hear that you hope to become more active as an admin again in the future. My post stemmed from frustrations about dealing with constant backlogs while there are 400 admins that weren't using the bit. I understand that several real life factors (that definitely should be given precedent over Wikipedia) get in the way, along with evolving interests, but it can still be frustrating at times. Speedy deletion declined: Draft:The Daily Network (news network)

[edit]

Hello EaglesFan37, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Draft:The Daily Network (news network), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not unambiguously promotional. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Ca talk to me! 05:16, 29 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Ca Hi! Just for future reference, if a user is banned for being a promotion only account, does their article not also get deleted? Thank you EaglesFan37 (talk) 14:10, 29 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, shouldn't have tagged a regular. From what I've observed the block status of the creator is certainly factored into a decision, [[[WP:G11]] doesn't contain any provision that promo-blocked users' articles are also deleted. The draft does criticize its subject, which would be unusual for an advertisement. Ca talk to me! 14:59, 29 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Ca No worries! EaglesFan37 (talk) 17:13, 29 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Submission declined: Draft:Paul Schmelzing

[edit]

Hello EaglesFan37, thanks again for reviewing my draft on the article about Paul Schmelzing. Unfortunately, you declined my draft for the following reasons:

"This draft is not written from a neutral point of view. Wikipedia articles must be written neutrally in a formal, impersonal, and dispassionate way. They should not read like a blog post, advertisement, or fan page. Rewrite the draft to remove: promotional language: see Words to watch; personal commentary: opinions or direct addresses to the reader; informal language. Instead, only summarize in your own words a range of independent, reliable, published sources that discuss the subject."

Since this is my first article on Wikipedia, I am not quite sure about what exactly I should change in my style of writing / selection of words in order to fulfill your and Wikipedia's requirements to get the article published and not declined again.

From my viewpoint, the article is written from a very neutral viewpoint, and only states true facts, which are always supported by source references that can be retrieved and support my statements. For that reason, I can not quite understand your viewpoint of this article not being written from a neutral, formal, impersonal, and dispassionate way.

In my drafting, I further tried to look at how other Wikipedia articles about living persons in the field of science are drafted, and I personally can not quite understand, how my draft differs from the style of writing of other Wikipedia articles in that area, that were accepted for publishing.

Since I spent a lot of time editing the article, I would greatly appreciate it, if you could give my specific and precise advice on what exactly in my draft has to be edited, in order to get the article accepted.

Thanks a lot in advance for your help and assistance! DerKurpfälzer (talk) 22:20, 29 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

@DerKurpfälzer The article reads as very promotional. Phrases like widely discussed among media, policymaking, and the financial industry over recent year, cited among the most influential research among policymakers in 2025, and He regularly appears on TV and other public events all come off as promotional. EaglesFan37 (talk) 22:25, 29 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Hello EaglesFan 37,
thank you for your prompt reply and constructive feedback.
I have made changes to my draft in accordance with your feedback and changed the relevant passages.
• The passage "were widely discussed among media (...)" has been changed to the following:
"He is most known for his work on reconstructing multi-century data and trends for global financial variables, including global interest rates since the 1300s, with the findings drawing discussions in media, policy, and the financial industry". Here "discussions" captures the numerous press/public echoes -- but it now refrains from any further judgments regarding the nature or biases of such discussions.
• The passage "He regularly appears on TV and other public events" has been deleted alltogether. Instead, the TV and public appearances are now partly reflected in the section "Press and Public Events", in line with similar existing Wiki articles on academics.
• Regarding your comment on the passage "Joint work with Kenneth Rogoff was ranked as among the most influential research among policymakers for 2025":
That passage reproduces a statement of fact that was published by the Financial Times on November 2, 2025 (Link: https://www.ft.com/content/6ecaa993-7bce-49c8-8c39-808b43c17ed5?syn-25a6b1a6=1), based on a regular ranking conducted by FT and research firm Overton. For the FT, Overton examined more than 733,000 documents from its database, issued since 2015, which referenced relevant academic papers. As such, there appears to be no value judgment involved in the statement, nor any violation of a "neutral" statement of fact.
I hope these changes fulfill your requirements in order to get the article published.
Thanks again. DerKurpfälzer (talk) 15:16, 30 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Dear EaglesFan37,
thanks again for reviewing my draft.
Since I have made a couple of changes in order to fulfill your's and Wikipedia's criteria (see above), I was wondering if you could tell me, whether or not these changes are sufficient in order to resubmit my draft.
Thank you and have a nice weekend. DerKurpfälzer (talk) 13:14, 2 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

In re Draft:Matthew Dooley

[edit]

Hey friend, just seeing where you saw WP:NPOV issues. I was actually about to approve this article before your decline. Sulfurboy (talk) 18:54, 1 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Sulfurboy Funny enough, I was in the middle of an accepting an article about a tree species earlier, when after I hit the accept button, it didn't go through because you had already approved it seconds earlier lol.
Back to Dooley, the WP:NPOV issues that I saw were that there was a bunch of encyclopedic details in the personal life section His favourite food is sausages. He enjoys crosswords, pub quizzes, crazy golf and plays lawn bowls. The article also seems to discuss that some of Dooley's books have been published in different languages (not sure how relevant that is), that he's currently working on his next novel (from a site that isn't WP:RS. The article also just lists that some novels are self-published, and discussions award nominations/wins (personally not familiar with how notable those awards are), without any regard for chronological order or flow.
I'm also not entirely sure if Dooley needs WP:GNG either. The two Guardian articles may be enough to push it over the edge (although they do read a bit promotional, and one of them was related to him winning a writing contest run by The Guardian, and the other one has close paraphrasing). The entire career section also feels very disorganized, which doesn't prevent it from being accepted, but I usually prefer for the editor to fix that first before accepting it. EaglesFan37 (talk) 19:10, 1 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
You might want to explain that to them in the decline reason, since it is a bit nuanced (I mean I didn't readily see it). I don't really see the NPOV problems as too much to warrant a decline as opposed to a main tag, but that's obviously a subjective opinion, and understand different reviewers will have different takes. I think the Guardian articles along with the notable award and two books published by a wikinotable publisher is enough (barely). That being said, I wouldn't fault a decline on notability either, in hopes it pressures the draft creator to source more.
I don't have enough of a dog in the fight to really care either way, was just trying to get some clarity from you to understand where we differed. Thanks for all the reviewing you do. Sulfurboy (talk) 19:29, 1 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Sulfurboy No worries, thanks for asking for clarification. EaglesFan37 (talk) 15:30, 6 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Leslie Katz

[edit]

I notice that you have added details of Katz's religion to the lead. In general, the lead should summarize content of main body of article. Her religion does not contribute to her notability which derives from her political career. See MOS:INTRO and MOS:LEADREL. If you think that readers would benefit from knowing her religion, you may consider adding a "Personal life" section.

Also note that the article contains {{use list-defined references}}. Instructions for list-defined references are here: Help:List-defined references.

Thank you for the work you do to improve Wikipedia. Regards --Lexiconaut (talk) 22:24, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Lexiconaut Hi! I agree that the lead wasn't the right place. For the past several months, I've been trying to expand "Category:Jewish American women in politics" (I've gotten it from around 190 to around 430 now). I can't add Jewish American women politicians to the category unless them being Jewish is mentioned somewhere in the article. I think for Leslie Katz, it didn't really fit in the body section, but there wasn't an early life or personal life section. I'll create a personal life section now. Re Draft:Leonid Selyakov

[edit]

Hi! I hadn't received notifications about the draft being declined, as I submitted it from a TA, which is why I'm only responding now.

I understand your concern, but I have cleaned this draft (that was previously part of an AIN discussion: see Wikipedia:AI noticeboard/Archive 9 § User:DddsDD) of hallucinated details and reviewed and reworked the translation myself based on its Russian Wikipedia counterpart. This is also why the template was replaced originally; I have discussed this with the original AIN poster on their talk page: User talk:Gurkubondinn § Draft:Leonid Selyakov

I had re-submitted that article with WP:LLMTRANSLATE in mind, following all of the four listed criteria for it, as I am a native speaker of Russian and am fluent in English. In fact, it led me to make edits to the original article too! From the way I see it, it's not the LLM part that needed review (it had been reviewed ad nauseam by the time of your review), but the translation itself (and by somebody who is also fluent in both Russian and English). As such, I'm asking you to either elaborate on your decision or retract your declination (if possible) and let somebody else review the draft. Thanks! — EmoryNB (they/them) talk contribs 09:34, 6 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

@EmoryNB You can always just resubmit the draft and let another reviewer take a look at it. EaglesFan37 (talk) 13:36, 13 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
I will, but I hoped you could see how a giant red banner saying "this is AI-generated" on a draft that was cleaned up from said AI is unideal at best... — EmoryNB (they/them) talk contribs 13:50, 13 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Request on 15:24:49, 6 August 2026 for assistance on AfC submission by Ponrajvellai

[edit]

I'm working on Draft:V. Ponraj, declined on 5 August 2026 for insufficient significant independent coverage. I have sources confirming his career (Senior Scientist on the LCA-Tejas programme, Director (Technology Interface) at the President's Secretariat under A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, later political career with MNM), but most are either primary/court records or mention him within stories about others rather than being substantially about him directly. I've disclosed my COI as his manager. Could someone advise whether specific types of sources would help, or whether this suggests he doesn't yet meet WP:NPEOPLE? Thank you.

[edit]

I wonder if Longeviquest will be able to verify her age—much like they did for Klavdia Gadyuchkina. It seems to me that the Gerontology Research Group only looked at her 1890 church record, but I know Varvara has an employment record from 1908. I wonder if Longeviquest will be able to confirm her age. After all, reaching 117 years of age is incredible for the 2000s, considering Maria Capovilla lived to be 116. Draft:Joan Rukundo Nalubega

[edit]

Re: Draft:Joan Rukundo Nalubega

Hi EaglesFan37,

Thank you so much for reviewing my draft so quickly! I really appreciate the speed of your feedback and all the work you do as a reviewer.

I wanted to follow up briefly regarding the draft's declination for lack of reliable, independent coverage and significant coverage. When drafting, my primary focus was ensuring the topic met core coverage standards, so I was a bit surprised by the result.

The draft currently cites over 20 sources, including pieces from outlets like PBS News, Business Insider Africa, Global Press Journal, Al Jazeera, and Forbes Africa.

Could you help me better understand where my current references fall short? Specifically, I would love your guidance on whether the issue is how these sources are used, the depth of coverage within them, or something else entirely. I want to make sure I fully address the requirements before resubmitting.

Thank you again for your time and guidance! Sea2sky (talk) 01:38, 13 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Sea2sky A lot of the sourcing for the article isn't from WP:RS or is WP:PROMO. The PBS News source is likely helps towards WP:GNG, but I'm not sure the other sourcing does. EaglesFan37 (talk) 02:47, 13 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
@EaglesFan37
Could you clarify which specific sources or passages feel unhelpful or promotional?
PBS News, Global Press Journal, Al Jazeera, DW, BBC, Forbes Africa, African Business, Monitor, I believe are realiable sources, so I feel confused by your comment. But I am keen to make whatever improvements are needed to meet guidelines.Expanding coverage for African subjects is really important to Wikipedia, especially given the well-documented representation gaps on English Wikipedia.
Please let me know how I can refine the page to meet the guidelines. Sea2sky (talk) 00:18, 14 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
