Plot
editOya (The goddess of gods) is an adapted epic film from the old Oyo Empire. Though a fiction, the film explores a different narrative from the usual story. It x-rays the life of Oya. Oya from history was Shango's third wife and also known as Oyá or Oiá; Yàńsàn-án an Orisha of lightning, winds and violent storms. As a river deity, she is regarded as a deity of children who is able to provide children to her devotees.
The story of Ọya is about gods in human forms living among humans. The story depicts how everyone in life is born with some sort of power at different levels. While some are aware and improved on it, others are unaware they have hidden powers.
The 3D animation short film is set in the 16th Century of the old Oyo Empire in Nigeria. A young devoted loving woman (Oya) was born with strange powers to a royal family with mysteries.
She lives in two worlds. She possesses and controls all the elements. She is sent as a reincarnated form ahead of time to avenge her family's mysterious death. Navigating the complexities of the human world she builds a strong connection to her community.
Perceived as a victim of circumstance whom the gods decided to use to settle scores with the evil family of Sango, her only task is to stop the 10th commemoration of the Egungun festival and reclaim the throne.
Despite her loving human nature, her flaw is set to ruin all she has. She is forced to engage her husband (Sango) in a fierce battle over an age-long throne dispute.
It's a battle of the gods to reclaim the lost throne.

Giving praise to the production team for the success of episode 1 he has also promised that subsequent episodes will be more cinematic, thematic and will be an improved version of episode 1
