Lasting two or three days, the Forum promotes events such as conferences and religious celebrations, under the patronage of the Dicastery for Evangelization and the Council of Episcopal Conferences of Europe.
Mission
editThe Pan-European Forum of Confraternities an initiative that aims to bring together European Catholic Confraternities in a forum to find answers on the current missions of these organizations in the European context.
The Confraternities unite millions of believers across Europe. According to the organizers, these institutions can also be vehicles and instruments of apostolate and evangelization, in order to preserve Christian values in society. ]
One of the current objectives of the Forum is to establish a transnational federation in Europe that can bring together the Confraternities of the continent, to facilitate their internal management and establish a form of action for a New Evangelization. ]
In 2023 the forum took place in the Real Edifício of Mafra, in Portugal, declared Heritage of the Humanity by the Unesco on 7 July 2019.[2][3] . In 2024 it will take place in Czestochowa (Poland) on 27-28 April
