Raipur division is an administrative division of Chhattisgarh state in central India. It includes the districts of Baloda Bazar, Raipur, Mahasamund, Gariaband and Dhamtari. It shares its border with 3 other divisions of Chhattisgarh and the state of Odisha.
Constituencies
editRaipur Division has 4 Lok Sabha Constituencies in it:Janjgir–Champa(reserved for SC), Raipur, Mahasamund and Kanker(reserved for ST). Three of them do not belong completely to Raipur division.
It has 19 Vidhan Sabha constituencies in it.
Administration
editA Divisional Commissioner, who is an IAS officer is the head of this region. Shri A. K. Toppo is the divisional commissioner of Raipur Division.[1]
Demographics
editAccording to the 2011 census, Raipur division has a population of 5,669,975 which is expected to be much higher by 2023. Out of it, 17,36,643 (30.63%) live in urban areas.
