TVS Raider is a sports commuter bike launched in 2021 by India's TVS Motor Company.[1] This sporty looking motorcycle aims to target the Gen Z commute space.[2]

TVS Raider has 125cc engine delivering 11bhp at 7500 rpm and 11 Nm peak torque at 6000rpm. The motor has 5 speed gear box with fuel efficiency rated at 67km/l. [3]

Next step innovation for TVS Raider would be getting bluetooth connected TFT screen for the drum brake variant[4]

Bike has a brake system consisting of 240mm front disc and a 130mm drum at the back. [5][6][7]

TVS Motors launched 125 cc motorcycle, TVS Raider to target young customers. The TVS Raider has a telescopic front suspension and a mono-shock rear suspension providing a comfortable ride with good stability. [8][9][10][11]

2022

TVS added new features to the motorcycle Raider and gained further popularity in the market of Gen Z commuters. The SmartXonnect variant in the Raider lineup was launched to provide maximum power and torque. [12][13]

2023

TVS launched super squad edition of Raider, inspired by marvel superheroes in 2 variants- Black Panther and Iron Man. [14][15][16]

2024

TVS Raider sold more than 7 lakh units of motorcycle.[17]

TFT Display

TVS Raider has five-inch TFT coloured display with helmet reminder, the reminder starts blinking once the bike starts. The TFT colour display also includes speedometer, gear indicator, fuel gauge, tachometer, time display, trip meter, odometer, and DTE. The bike also has voice and navigation assist, image transfer options, incoming call feature, and ride reports.[3][18]

Engine

TVS Raider's engine has a standard Ntorq for a total of 11.38hp at 7,500rpm and 11.2Nm at 6,000rpm. It also has a heat management system to cool the oil through exposed fins behind the clutch cover. The bike is powered by an air & oil-cooled, single-cylinder, advanced 3-valve 124cc ET-Fi engine. It produces 8.3 kW @ 7500 rpm and 11.2 Nm @ 6000 rpm of peak power. It has a 5 Speed gearbox, giving top speed of 0-60km/h in just 5.9 sec. [5][19][20]

Safety

The 172mm ground clearance and engine guard gives the required safety to the biker riders in rough conditions. Side Stand Alert also helps here by cutting the ignition when a gear is engaged. Roto-Petal disc brake, coupled with SBT (synchronized braking technology), splits the load on both wheels giving optimal braking power. [21][22]

Comfort

Wider split seat, wider swing arm and lower seat height give riders the comfort and stability. [23][24][25]

Utility

Under seat storage and USB charger adds utility to the bike along with the comfort and safety. [26]

Competition

The 125cc bike will compete with Bajaj Pulsar 125 and Honda Shine.[27][28]

The bike has got two riding modes, Eco and Power, with the switchgear to toggle and choose the mode. Eco mode can offer up to 3% more fuel economy and Power mode can offer up to 10% more power. [29][30]
