In June 2021, Patrick Hughes stated that a third film is in development with the basic plot already mapped out.[1] By July, the filmmaker stated that he has hopes for additional installments in the film series.[2][3]

Potential crossover with The Man from Toronto

By June 2022, the filmmaker stated that as he wrapped production on The Man from Toronto, he realized that he wants to have The Hitman's Bodyguard movies take place in the same universe. Hughes stated that he plans to talk to the associated film studios, and is working on a crossover idea where Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, Kevin Hart, and Woody Harrelson can reprise their roles.[4]

The Man from Toronto (2022)

In June 2022, Hughes stated that after completing production, he realized that he wants The Man from Toronto to have the same continuity as The Hitman's Bodyguard movies. Hughes stated that he is working on crossover idea where Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, Kevin Hart, and Woody Harrelson can reprise their roles.[4]
