The Hunger is an upcoming American erotic horror film directed by Angela Robinson from a screenplay by Jessica Sharzer, serving as a remake of the 1983 film adaptation of Whitley Strieber's 1981 novel. The film is set to be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.
Plot
editThe last of a race of vampires, who've lived for thousands of years by feeding off the blood of victims, give their lovers immortality by injecting them with vampire blood. However, they end up aging at a rapid rate, sending them toward an eternal undead state. When one of the vampires' lovers begins to show signs of aging, she seeks the help of a hematologist. The scientist works to discover she thinks she has found a breakthrough bestowing eternal youth, and upon the vampire's learning of this, she seduces the scientist.

editOn September 20, 2009, it was announced that Warner Bros. Pictures had acquired the remake rights to the 1983 film The Hunger, which was based on the 1981 novel of the same name by Whitley Strieber who had signed with Gersh Agency upon the announcement.[1] There were no further developments on the project until May 18, 2021, when it was announced that Angela Robinson was attached to direct the film with Jessica Sharzer writing the screenplay. It was also announced that Greg Berlanti was set to produce the film alongside frequent production partner Sarah Schechter.[2]
