Vaibhav Palhade (born October 12, 1998, in Akola, Maharashtra) is an Indian filmmaker and author. He is known for his work in Indian cinema and literature, particularly in the Marathi language.[1][2]

editVaibhav Palhade was born in Akola, Maharashtra. From a young age, he developed an interest in filmmaking and literature.[3] Beyond his creative work, Palhade has made notable contributions to education, particularly in Rajasthan, where he has been recognized for his efforts to educate youth.[4] He has also conducted filmmaking workshops for students from underprivileged backgrounds, providing free access to valuable skills.[5]

editPalhade made his debut in Indian cinema with the short film I'm Porous, known for its exploration of social themes.[6] In 2020, Palhade directed the short film Stay at Home. Created during the COVID-19 lockdown, the film addresses issues related to the pandemic. Actors filmed themselves at home while Palhade directed the project remotely via video call.[7]
In 2022, he directed the Marathi-language feature film 72 Rupayacha Paus, which received attention for its cultural impact and storytelling.[8] He is also working on the web series Curse of Bhadravati, set to release in 2025, which aims to blend Indian mythology with contemporary themes.[9]
Literary Career
editPalhade's debut novel, Saajna Re: A Lifelong Journey of Finding Her, was published in 2020.[10] The novel, exploring relationships during the COVID-19 lockdown, was well-received and became a bestseller in India.[11] In 2024, he released Echoes of Yesterday, which addresses themes of memory and identity.[12]
