The Zomi Youth Association (ZYA) is an non-profit organization that represents and supports the youth of the Zomi community.

Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Response

  • ZYA often organizes blood donation camps in collaboration with local hospitals and blood banks. these drives are aimed at encouraging healthy individuals from the Zomi community to donate blood, there a reserve of available blood for emergencies. ZYA have emergency transportation assistance and oxygen tanks for individuals who need them in critical situations such as medical emergencies or accidents. That include relief distribution.[1][2]

  • To work in collaboration with the government to facilitate the development of our nation and people.
  • To work in partnership with NGOs and INGOs to deliver assistance to people in need.

3. Objectives

  • To form ZYA everywhere Zomis live around the world.
  • To preserve and promote Zomi cultural heritage such as language, culture and literature.
  • To support building up one another to turn out highly educated good citizens.
  • To have ZYA Halls in every place where the organization is formed.

4. Policy

  • ZYA is a worldwide organization and as such it is not localized in one place.
  • ZYA is not a political establishment and it must not accordingly be involved in any political activities.
  • The President is the head of the organization and is of the highest in authority.
  • All Zomis are considered members of ZYA except those who are too young and too old to actually participate in its functions.
  • There should never be any discrimination along the lines of one’s race, religion, economic status, gender or age.
