Zirabagtaria is an solzid kimberellomorph (stem mollusk)from the Ediacaran aged Clemente Formation in Mexico discovered by the American paleontologist Mark McMenamin along with the stem Aculiferan Korifogrammia and various other species in 2018.[1][2][3]

Description

edit

Zirabagtaria was oval shaped,a u shaped band defined its head, sclerites are preserved in the holotype, an asymmetrical head may be due to deformation or glide symmetry.[4][5]

Classification

edit

Zirabagtaria was an Solzid Kimberellomorph ( related to solza) , therefore it is an stem Mollusc.[1]

Occurrence

edit

Some taxa from the Clemente Formation, with Zirabagtaria being at the top right.

Zirabagtaria is known from a single specimen from the Clemente Formation in Mexico.[1][6]

Species

edit

There is a single species, Z.ovata.[1][5]

Notes

edit
