History
editPandit Jawaharlal Nehru emphasized the importance of developing science and technology. In his honor, the college was named Jawahar Science College, and several job-oriented courses were introduced. The college began with 120 students and was inaugurated by Minister P. Chidambaram on October 18, 1987.
