Refuged caste description

edit

Kohar, (lit.''hatchet''[2]also knowan as Kohäd) belong to the landholding Jutt community, observing Sikh Anand Karaj marriage[when?] laws and avoiding interfaith marriage as a social taboo. Some elders trace their lineage to the Sandhu Jats of Singhawala, though this remains speculative and based on oral accounts. Female Kohar members often marry Malwa Jats, aligning with Sikh Maryada, and the community rejects regressive Arya Samaj practices, emphasizing progressive matrimonial and social values.
