The Kollam Rural Police is the law enforcement agency concerned with the maintenance of law and order in the rural areas of Kollam district in Kerala. The area covers municipalities of Kottarakkara, Punalur and several towns in the district. The Kollam Rural Police is headed by the Kollam District Police Chief of IPS rank. Each subdivision is headed by a DySP rank police officer. The entire district rural police handles an average of 30,000 cases every year.[1]

Administrative divisions
editThere are a total of 20 police stations under the control of Kollam Rural Police, 9 of which are under the control of the Kottarakkara Subdivision, 7 stations under Punalur Subdivision and 5 under Sasthamkotta Subdivision.[2]
