Personal life
editMathangi Ajithkumar was born on 8th May 2002 to a Malayali Nair Family in Palakkad. She is an Indian Playback singer. She is the daughter of Ajithkumar and Rajani Ajithkumar. She completed her graduation BA English Language and Literature from Yuvakshetra Institute of Management Studies. Currently she is pursuing her Post Graduation in English Language and Literature in Yuvakshetra Institute of Management Studies.

editMathangi Ajithkumar has become well known to the music world, much faster, in a very short span of her career, by teaming with the legend K. J. Yesudas.[2]
Mathangi Ajithkumar is the singer, to represent as the best and the most blessed to be the first of the 4th generation of Co- Singers of K. J. Yesudas.[3] It is a teaming of singers of age 81 and 18! Her first stepping to Music career, was by the introduction by M. S. Viswanathan at his live concert at Kamaraj Hall Chennai[4], when she was only 6 years old. Mathangi is ever grateful to K. J. Yesudas for paving the way for her, and to start his 4th generation of Co-Singers with her. It was for a Tamil movie that she has sung for the first time with K. J. Yesudas[5]. This song is composed by Late Ravi J Menon and Lyrics by Devadas Nandakumar. Music director Vijaykumar Chambath gave her a duet song with K. J. Yesudas in a Malayalam film directed titled “14th February" and Lyrics by Sreekumar Balakrishnan. It was really a boon for her to sing with “GAANA GANDHARVAN” in both Tamil and Malayalam Movies.[6]
She has sung in 24 movies including 18 Tamil movies, 5 Malayalam movies and in 1 Kannada movie to her credit . In Tamil movies she has recorded songs with K. J. Yesudas , P. Jayachandran, Vijay Yesudas and in Malayalam movies she has recorded with K. J. Yesudas, P. Jayachandran, Unni Menon and Biju Narayanan.[7]
