Mission Swaraj is an initiative launched by popular YouTuber Dhruv Rathee ahead of the 2024 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election. Through this campaign, Rathee has presented seven significant challenges to the political leaders of Maharashtra to address pressing socio-economic and environmental issues. These challenges were primarily communicated via social media platforms, including YouTube[1] and X.[2]

The Seven Challenges

Dhruv Rathee's challenges aim to address key issues in Maharashtra. They include:

  1. Training farmers, soil testing, establishing laboratories, seed banks, and local markets.
  2. Implementing rainwater harvesting initiatives.
  3. Providing free, quality education.
  4. Ensuring free, quality healthcare.
  5. Promoting cleanliness and ensuring access to clean air and water.
  6. Eradicating crime and ensuring safety and security.
  7. Promoting local industries and creating employment opportunities.[3]

Rathee further stated:

  • "Whoever takes up this challenge and completes it, I will work for them. However, if this challenge is accepted and not completed, it is a battle with me and my 2.5 crore colleagues (followers, subscribers)."*[4]
