Nahal Moran

Nahal Moran (in Hebrew: נחל מורן, in Arabic: وادي موران, transcription: Wadi al-Moran) is a 3.5 km long stream in the center of the Upper Galilee, north of Mount Meron. It is one of the tributaries of the Upper Nahal Kziv. Its Hebrew and Arabic names derive from the Viburnum tinus shrubs growing along its length.

Geography

The stream begins near Neria (Mount Meron Field School) and flows westward, initially passing through agricultural plots and then through dense Mediterranean forest, until it meets the Nahal Kziv about one kilometer southeast of Hurfeish. About one kilometer west of Neria, springs known as Nahal Neria emerge in the stream. A section of Route 89 (from Nahariya to Sasa) passes along the steep northern slope of the stream. The Moran Stream area is green all year round, and entry to its hiking trails is free.
