edit- ^ CHATTERJEE, SUKHENDU “During the reign of Mohammad Bin Tughlaq (1325-1357 CE), the city was named as 'Dhilli' in a stone inscription in Nadayan village (modern day Naraina). Similarly, another inscription recovered from Palam village Baoli refers to 'Delhi' as lying in 'Haryanak', present-day Haryana.
The Tomar kings built their capital at Suraj Kund, an area protected by hills. An early landmark of Delhi is a pre tenth century temple fort and lake complex in and around present day Suraj kund. Sultan Garhi Suraj kund with its sun temple, the ruins of a dam and some fortifications in ruins all point to creations by Suraj Pal and Anang Pal of the Tomar Dynasty.” (26 November 2024).
