Proposed portal merging
editThe following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
It is proposed to merge the Portal:Book of Mormon with this portal by User:Graham11.
- Strongly oppose: This are portals with two different topics and they should be kept separat.--Broter (talk) 15:05, 30 August 2016 (UTC)
- I agree with Broter and oppose this merger proposal: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is one of several denominations that use the Book of Mormon. What about the Community of Christ Portal? These portals should all remain separate. Deaddebate (talk) 17:49, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
Notice from the Portals WikiProject
editWikiProject Portals is back!
The project was rebooted and completely overhauled on April 17th, 2018. Its goals are to revitalize the entire portal system, make building and maintaining portals easier, support the ongoing improvement of portals and the editors dedicated to this, and design the portals of the future.
As of May 2nd, 2018, membership is at 60 editors, and growing. You are welcome to join us.
There are design initiatives for revitalizing the portals system as a whole, and for improving each component of portals. So far, 2 new dynamic components have been developed: Template:Transclude lead excerpt and Template:Transclude random excerpt.
Tools are provided for building and maintaining portals, including automated portals that update themselves in various ways.
And, if you are bored and would like something to occupy your mind, we have a wonderful task list.
From your friendly neighborhood Portals WikiProject. Hope to see you there. Sincerely, — The Transhumanist 07:35, 2 May 2018 (UTC)

Some LDS LGBT pages are redundant or at least should be templatized
editThe same content presented the same way in multiple pages should either be condensed to one article or (if left as it is now) should be templatized. There are a number of LDS-related pages that linked to the (relatively newly-renamed) Family Services which have near identical lists of "here's what happened in this date range". That's redundant. I've also posted this at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject LGBT studies as there doesn't appear to be a cross page. Banaticus (talk) 22:09, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
Portal rename to Latter-day Saints
editFor grammatical correctness and consistency with the name of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we should rename the portal to add a hyphen. 136.36.163.20 (talk) 05:14, 24 May 2022 (UTC)
- I 10000% disagree. This portal is about ALL the denominations in the Latter Day Saint movement. Epachamo (talk) 12:48, 24 May 2022 (UTC)
Leaving on a mission
editI just wanted to share that I will be leaving for a two-year mission in Fort Collins, Colorado, starting on November 11. Before I go, I was wondering if there’s a way to set up my account for an extended period of inactivity. Are there any recommendations or settings I should consider adjusting to keep everything in order while I’m away? LuxembourgLover (talk) 16:25, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
