Political career
editRanjit Debbarma became one of the early member of The TipraHa Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA) when it was started it 2019.[2]
Tripuri Nationalism Movement
editUpon the surrender of Mantu Koloi, second in command of one of the National Liberation Front of Tripura's factions, he requested that Ranjit Debbarma engage in talks with the Government of India to resolve the crisis, but Debbarma vowed to fight on.

Tipra Motha's Deb Barma was the chief of All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF), an armed group that fought a futile battle for years to liberate Tripura.
