Ranokhetro (transl. Battleground) is a 1998 Indian Bengali-language action thriller film co-written and directed by Haranath Chakraborty. Produced by Shrikant Mohta and Mahendra Soni under the banner of Shree Venkatesh Films, the story, screenplay and dialogues of the film were written by Monotosh Chakraborty.[1] It stars Ranjit Mallick, Prosenjit Chatterjee and Satabdi Roy in the lead roles;[2] while Kushal Chakraborty, Dipankar De, Aparajita Auddy, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Subhendu Chatterjee, Dulal Lahiri, Kaushik Banerjee, Sumanta Mukherjee and Lily Chakravarty play other pivotal roles. The soundtrack of the film was composed by Debojyoti Mishra,[3] with lyrics penned by Pulak Bandyopadhyay and Rituparno Ghosh.[4]

Plot
editSantu is murdered in the hands of a corrupt minister's drug-peddling son when he protests against the sale of drugs on the college campus. As the law enforcers turn a deaf ear to Raja's pleas, he decides to avenge his brother's death.
