Sam Konstas (born 2 October 2005) is an Australian cricketer who represents New South Wales and the Australia under-19 cricket team as a right-handed opening batter.[1] He is an Australian of Greek heritage.[2]

Career
editIn July 2023, Konstas was named in the squad of the Australia under-19 team for a tour to England against the England under-19 cricket team.[3] He made his first-class debut against Tasmania in November 2023.[4] In December 2023, Konstas signed his first professional contract for the Sydney Thunder.[5] Later that month, Konstas was named as part of the Australian squad for the 2024 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.[6] He made a century against the West Indies, scoring 108 from 121 balls.[7]
Konstas made his first century in first-class cricket against South Australia on 8 October 2024, scoring 152 runs off 241 deliveries.[8] Konstas made another century in the second innings of the same match, the youngest player to do so in the Sheffield Shield since Ricky Ponting in 1993.[9]
After a good start to the 2024-25 Sheffield Shield season, Konstas was selected for the India A tour of Australia.[10] In the 2nd innings of the second unofficial Test, Konstas scored 73 not out and sealed the win alongside, teammate Beau Webster.
