Career
editAfter joining BJP in 2013, Yadav continued to contribute. In the 2017 assembly elections, the party fielded her as the candidate from the Chauri Chaura Gorakhpur seat, and she secured a victory with a significant margin. She was elected MLA by defeating Samajwadi Party candidate Manoranjan Yadav by 45,660 votes.[4]
However, in the 2022 assembly elections, this seat was allocated to the Nishad Party under the alliance. Sangeeta did not object to the party's decision. The party nominated her as a Rajya Sabha candidate in June 2022.[5]
