Seal (Bengali: শীল), also spelled Shil or Sil or Shil Sharma or Sil Sharma, is a native Bengali surname that is used by the Bengali Hindu community of India and Bangladesh. It literally means the quality of being devoted. Most of the Bengali Napit use this surname. Basically the title Sarma Used by The Brahmins in various regions but many Napit or Nai are also used Sarma as their surname. [1]
