edit[1] suggests to my mind at least that the station probably won't open before mid century. Does this mean it should become just a paragraph in the extention article? Jim.henderson (talk) 14:14, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
Future station
editThis is a future station. Why is the category being removed? There are references to support this. Epicgenius (talk) 00:06, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- It may have been a future station at some point in the past. It is no longer one. If it were, it would have a planned completion date. Pburka (talk) 00:44, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, but an IP user is removing the category on the grounds that it was never a future station, which it was at one point (it is still being planned today, but it isn't definitively a future station anymore). Epicgenius (talk) 03:22, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- It sounds like you agree that it's not a future station, but you still want the category to remain? Please clarify. Pburka (talk) 03:56, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- @Pburka: Yes, I want the category to remain, but the category should be renamed to Category:Planned New York City Subway stations, since all future subway stations, as well as planned ones fall under the category "Planned New York City Subway stations". That way, the category could remain even if it's not a future station anymore. Epicgenius (talk) 12:42, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. The category should only include stations that are actively under construction. 166.216.165.89 (talk) 13:13, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- This is part of the 7 Subway Extension. The 7 Subway Extension is under construction. Epicgenius (talk) 14:23, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- You have a really hard time with reality, yes? This is NOT part of the 7 Subway Extension, never has been. The 7 Subway Ext is 90% done, and will open in a few months. At 10th Avenue, there are NO station platforms, NO station shell, or even any provision for anything. This station is pure fantasy. 166.216.165.89 (talk) 16:02, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- There's a station shell at the location. It is planned, and was under construction up until 2007. You need to read the sources. Or else, take a break. Epicgenius (talk) 16:32, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- By the way, the 7 Subway Extension is not 90% done, it's completely done. The only reason it isn't open is because of work in the 34th Street station itself. Epicgenius (talk) 19:07, 19 February 2014 (UTC)

Let's create a new category and call it NYCS-related proposals or so. I can find several articles that could populate it, such as Lowline (park), Proposed New York City Subway expansion (1929–40) etc. Vcohen (talk) 13:28, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- No! 166.216.165.89 (talk) 13:31, 19 February 2014 (UTC)

- The parent category for Future New York City subway stations is Category:Proposed railway stations in the United States. A category "Proposed New York City subway stations" or "Proposed expansions of the New York City subway system" would seem totally appropriate. Remember that the category system is intended to help readers find related articles, not to make editorial comment.--agr (talk) 14:50, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- It does seem appropriate; in fact, I've created it. Epicgenius (talk) 19:07, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
