To list or not to list?
editIn the references quoted, there are varying descriptions of what qualifies as a Grand Prix. For example, the Team Dan reference [1] includes races involving Motorcycles, and races for sportscars, and tends to include more races than the other two references mentioned below. Hans Etzrodt [2] shows which races were Grandes Épreuves(blue background), and which races were considered major (bold text). Peter Higham's Guinness Guide usually agrees with Hans Etzrodt in listing a Grand Prix. Where there is disagreement, I have looked for the item being in at least two of the three references, and being noted as a major race or Grand Épreuve. That is why not every race from the references is in the list. If we could get further references so that more races could be verified as Grand Prix, then we can increase this list.Paddyslacker (talk) 06:42, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
San Sebastian or Spain
editTwo of the references list the Lasarte race as the Spanish Grand Prix, one lists it as the San Sebastian Grand Prix. I went with the majority. If anyone can cite references that this was the San Sebastian Grand Prix, please edit accordingly.Paddyslacker (talk) 06:42, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
1930 Indy 500
editWhat evidence is there that the 1930 Indy 500 race was a Grandes Épreuve? According to [3], the Indy 500 was originally to be a round of the (again) failed World Championship, but the organisers decided not to run the race to GP regulations at all (also see 1930 Indianapolis 500).
