1. It is reasonably well written.

Lead

• An explanation of what the boundaries of the Eastern Pacific and Central Pacific are would be helpful
• The second paragraph of the lead feels like it ends abruptly after Susan. I feel like it should follow through on a brief summary of the remaining storms to be complete.

Aletta

• A small tropical disturbance, originating within the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) across the Caribbean Sea, in the Gulf of Tehuantepec on May 27. – a word or two is missing here.
• Aletta transitioned to an extratropical cyclone about six hours later before it degenerated to a disturbance over southwestern Mexico on June 1. – the given source does not mention Aletta becoming extratropical

Bud

• ...it ultimately dissipated within the ITCZ after 06:00 UTC on June 20 while located over the open East Pacific. – The cited CPHC seasonal report indicates Bud existed in the CPac from June 24 to 26 before dissipating.

Carlotta

• After formation, Carlotta embarked toward the west-southwest, steered by the same ridge that directed Bud. – this ridge is not mentioned in Bud's summary
• Carlotta continued to intensify as it curved west-northwest but remained over warm ocean waters... – the mention of warm waters should come earlier as indicated in the given citation
• It was last identified over the West Pacific... – an explanation of what the West Pacific is should be given, or this can just be reworded to state it crossed the International Dateline

Daniel

• After moving into a more favorable environment again... – the given source doesn't mention the overall environment, just the water temperature

Fico

• The CPHC report on the late stages of the hurricane differs significantly from what's written.
• It tracked further than any West Pacific typhoon by that point, and only one typhoon – Rita – persisted at that intensity longer than Fico. – Which Rita? There are nine of them (I know it's 1972, that just needs to be clarified and linked)

Gilma

• An area of disturbed weather spawned by a tropical wave developed southeast of Acapulco and rapidly grew in size. – When?

Norman

• ...Norman ultimately dissipated south of San Clemente Island after 00:00 UTC on September 7. – HURDAT and the prelim report differ slightly. The prelim states that advisories were discontinued south of San Clemente while HURDAT has the remnants moving inland over SoCal.

Olivia

• A little info regarding the uses of ship observations for Olivia's peak intensity should be included

Susan

• Information from the CPHC report regarding Susan's intensity and progression should be included.

Season effects

• Pressures, when available, should be included in the table

   Archives of Mexican newspapers have extra information that is not included in this article. For example, El Informador published information regarding damage from Aletta in a May 31, 1978, issue. This archive of Mexican newspapers should yield a good deal of information.

   Half of the images are created using the track map generator created for WP:WPTC and fall under free-use. All satellite images are taken by NOAA/NASA satellites and fall under public domain.

   Overall this is a reasonably well-written and mostly comprehensive article; however, there are a few issues which I've detailed above. The larger issue is a lack of Spanish sources. A deeper search into Mexican newspapers (link provided above) should yield sufficient information to complete the article. Status query

Cyclonebiskit, TropicalAnalystwx13, where does this review stand? It's been over a month and a week since this review was posted, and with three modest article edits only (one by the nominator), there hasn't been significant progress made on the issues raised in the review. Cyclonebiskit, TropicalAnalystwx13, we're nearly three months past my status query without a response from either of you. It appears that the nomination and review have been abandoned. If nothing has been done by 24 September, I plan to close it as abandoned in fact. Thank you for anything either of you can do to either get this moving or to close it.
