editCan anyone add a more accurate game summary and maybe a source for the Ryan Leaf Spike incident? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.197.240.53 (talk) 23:00, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
I saw that same spike incident on TV recently. My understanding is that the clock, with 2 seconds left (stopped by movement of the chains for 1st down), was to restart on the ready-to-play, that 1 second came off before the play started, and 1 second came off when the spike was actually run. The spike was legal but presumably undesirable due to no time being left when it was done; should have run a regular play in a situation like this. 14:19, 10 October 2019 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Carlm0404 (talk • contribs)
