Se necesita alguien que actualice esta versión con la versión española / Somebody is needed to updates this version with the spanish version

Due to the recent changes, and constant updates due to fluctuating means that produce these elections, a 100% proficient English speaker who is interested in all the changes in "Elecciones presidenciales en Chile (2005) is necesarry to translate it, it would be very helpful.
I propose, even though I don't know him, GringoInChile, since he seems to have quite a handle on the subject or Cantus.
This is an extreme necessity so that the non-spanish speakers can know what happens in this election.

I'm happy to do what I can to keep this page up to date. But I'll have to depend on you guys to keep the spanish version actualizado! --GringoInChile 06:36, 11 June 2005 (UTC)
I changed Juntos Podemos' name from "Togetrher we can do more" to "Juntos Podemos Más", its actual name. Since the name PODEMOS is actaully an acronym (Poder Democratico Social), it'd be weird to translate it, as its meaning would no longer be effective.
Suggestion for improvement
editUnder the section "Coalition of Parties for Democracy" it says this "The political atmosphere changed however when another Alianza candidate came to the scene: businessman Sebastián Piñera from the center-right National Renewal." However it doesn't explain. Being an outsider to Chilean politics, I didn't know what this meant or what the change was. Could someone clarify that? --MateoP 23:27, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
- In past elections, there had been one Concertación (center-left) candidate and one Alianza (right) candidate. Lavín was supposed to be the sole right-wing candidate, but Piñera entered the race, splitting the right-wing vote.
I tried to reorganise the candidates section but now I'm confused. Did both Piñera and Lavín run as a representatives of the same coalition? Or was Piñera only representing his party? And if so, is the RN still considered part of the Alliance or not? --Yodakii 03:52, 16 January 2006 (UTC)
- The two parties compose the Alianza coalition. However, since there were two candidates, each candidate represented only his party. Thus, Lavín was representing the UDI and Piñera was representing the RN. In the second round, only Piñera was left, so he is considered the Alianza candidate for that round. Both UDI and RN were always considered part of the Alianza, regardless of the fact that each party put two different candidates 200.119.236.241 18:35, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
