Can someone explain what all the <span style="display:none"> tags are for? Does that content serve any useful purpose, or are they just taking up bandwidth? Samer (talk) 13:18, 1 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned references in 2007 NFL Draft

edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of 2007 NFL Draft's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "Pro Bowler note":

  • From 2005 NFL Draft: Being a Pro Bowler means that the player went to the Pro-Bowl at any time in their career.
  • From 1993 NFL Draft: Players are identified as a Pro Bowler if they were selected for the Pro-Bowl at any time in their career.
  • From 2006 NFL Draft: Pro Bowler denotes a player who has earned selection to the Pro Bowl at least once in his career.
  • From 2002 NFL Draft: Being a Pro Bowler does not mean that the player went to the Pro Bowl this year, it simply states that the player went to the Pro-Bowl at any time in their career.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 04:45, 12 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Implementing change to draft table

edit

I am currently working in my sandbox on implementing the changes I've made to the 2008, 2009 and 2010 draft articles. The changes consist of replacing the existing tables with a single table supported by a collection of templates. Once I've completed the conversion in my sandbox, I'll implement it into the page. Please let me know if you have any problems with these changes. — DeeJayK (talk) 12:57, 5 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

I liked the layout for the NFL Draft prior to the 2007 edits. The prior format (2006 and back) made it easier to find players and the yellow highlight for Pro Bowlers made the page look better. I respect your effort in updating the info and all, however, I am not a fan of the layouts of the 2007 NFL Draft and foward. Is there anyway to change the layout back to the way the NFL Draft pages were like? Thanks —Precedingunsigned comment added by75.89.68.43 (talk) 21:15, 2 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Please see Talk:2010 NFL Draft#Proposed new table layout for a more complete discussion of the rationale behind the changes (which have as of now been implemented for the draft articles back to 2002). I'd be interested in understanding why you feel the old format "made it easier to find players". The new format adds functionality to sort the players by name, college, NFL team, conference, etc. which should all increase the user's ability to locate a player (in addition to the Ctrl+F/Cmd+F browser search capability which remains unchanged). With regard to notation of Pro Bowlers, they are still differentiated by color just as before. The only difference is that we changed the shade a bit. It's simple enough to change the color if there is a consensus that the old color is preferable. If you'd like to re-implement the previous format, that's your prerogative as a WP user, but I'd like to see if there was a way that we could improve the new format to meet your needs. — DeeJayK (talk) 18:48, 26 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Notable Undrafted Players

edit

Couldn't that list be expanded? A few other players have come out of this draft class and are still playing, whereas some of the notable undrafteds are already out of the league. Atari2 (talk) 05:59, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Sure! Go for it.— DeeJayK (talk) 15:09, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Has reverted the edits in the Notable Undrafted Player section of the 1995 NFL Draft, 1996 NFL Draft, 1998 NFL Draft, 1999 NFL Draft, 2007 NFL Draft, 2009 NFL Draft, 2011 NFL Draft, 2012 NFL Draft, and others. Putting players that did not have a notable career and are just classified as undrafted. This is not the first time that it has happened with this user, so I would ask for somebody to review this case, because the essence of this section is to be selective with the players being put there.Makers267 (talk) 18:58, 12 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

NOTable undrafted players

edit

Why I removed several players? Well... here are their career NFL stats:

Plus, none of them won a Super Bowl, let alone achieved individual highlights. Sergio Skol (talk) 20:30, 16 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
