Usually these yearly Assembly election pages do not store information regarding Bye elections since these happen very frequently and haphazardly based on the need. Hence, I think that the recently added section on the bye election to 1 seat in Manipur does not need to be part of this article. Any thoughts? As seen in previous chronological articles (e.g. 2008, 2007, 2006 etc.), only General Elections to Legislative Assemblies are included in these articles. By mentioning one single bye election to a single seat in Manipur, it gives rise to the potential misconception that bye elections are rare in Indian politics and hence deserves mention that this Manipur by election is special. This is far from the truth given that bye elections to various Assembly seats are held on an almost monthly basis across the country. As such, I believe that we should not be singling out the bye election in Manipur's Yaiskul Assembly Constituency unless there is a more comprehensive coverage of all/majority of the bye elections held around India in 2009. For the moment, I am commenting out the references to Manipur's bye election. Based on any consensus, we can either completely remove or easily reinstate the misleading content.
