editCome on Aguero has not signed yet with anyone - how do you include him in the squad?
And who put Cristiano Ronaldo?! Laks.t.cfc13 (talk) 10:58, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
Yossi Benayoun
editUnsure as to whether he should be listed as number 10 considering the only source that was given was the shirt on the shop. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TheAPERSONNCC (talk • contribs) 19:29, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
Orphaned references in 2010–11 Chelsea F.C. season
editI check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of 2010–11 Chelsea F.C. season's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
Reference named "Cork":
- From 2009–10 Chelsea F.C. season: "Coventry Take Cork On Loan". Chelsea FC. 21 August 2009. Retrieved 2009-08-23.
- From 2008–09 Chelsea F.C. season: "Saints bag Chelsea's Cork on loan". BBC Sport. 2008-08-21. Retrieved 2008-08-21.
I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 22:16, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
Demichelis v De Michelis
editCan we get some input here, please? Tired of reverting: let's be sensible and discuss this, instead :) So, I'm fairly adamant that Bruno Demichelis should spelt like that, whereas User:69.116.135.134 insists it should be Bruno De Michelis. Has anyone got any opinions on this?
My view is this: the official Chelsea site refers to him as Demichelis. WP:Verifiability clearly states this:
"The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth—whether readers can check that material added to Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source, not whether editors think it is true."
The official site is clearly a reliable source in this instance. And nevertheless, I have yet to see any evidence at all that it should be spelt De Michelis. As for google results (a good yardstick for general usage, even if it doesn't mean much on a wider scale), they're in favour of DeMichelis, with 7,160 results to 4,980.
Obviously this is a pretty trivial matter, really, but we need some consistency. Any input, anybody? Can we settle on one and not the other? I think policy is quite clearly in favour of DeMichelis here, but some consensus would be great. AllynJ (talk | contribs) 04:30, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
- Sources are definitely divided on this, but there is also a clear majority in favour of "Demichelis", and since the Chelsea site also uses that style, so should we. – PeeJay 11:30, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
- I agree with PeeJay, we might all be wrong but until otherwise shown the error it's a matter of popularity. Just remember to change the references to him on the Chelsea main couching staff list too.Koncorde (talk) 15:25, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
De Michelis is an Italian name. This is the way it's spelled in Italy. This is the way Bruno De Michelis spells it himself. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.116.135.134 (talk) 21:34, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
- Do you have any reliable sources for that? That's what Wikipedia has to work off - verifiable information from reputable sources. Just saying it doesn't make it instantly usable for Wikipedia. WP:OR, WP:V, WP:RS may all be of interest here. AllynJ (talk | contribs) 22:01, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
Look at how his name is spelled in this article: http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/New-assistant-boss-Bruno-de-Michelis-makes-his-entrance-at-Chelsea-Exclusive-article27771.html —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.116.135.134 (talk) 00:36, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
