  • Support. Wikipedia is not a place to level baseless allegations and use it to defame persons. The current article accuses certain person's of being bookies and involved in spot-fixing without any court convictions which are clear violations of WP:Libel. It is the responsibility of all contributors to ensure that material posted on Wikipedia is not defamatory. It is Wikipedia policy to delete libelous material when it has been identified. And also see WP:NOTSCANDAL for that matter. This article needs a urgent cleanup to come up to wiki standards. Removing the allocations and merging it Controversies involving the Indian Premier League would certainly help. Thanks. --Neelkamala (talk) 16:35, 31 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose - The reason given is - "wide-spread allegations based on tabloid speculations without any court verdict". They maybe just allegations but I think that if both, the Mumbai & Delhi police are investigating it rigorously, there might be some truth. And who knows if it is right. This article doesn't tell only about spot-fixing. Focus has also been put on the investigation relating to the arrest of several bookies & betting agents. Simply because there isn't a court verdict doesn't mean that all the allegations are false. The investigation process is still going on. Have patience & wait for the verdict. The court has till now rejected the bail pleas of most of the accused after hearing the case from either the Mumbai or Delhi police. That means there is some evidence against them. - Jayadevp13 15:40, 31 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. I think there are enough facts like arrest of three players, several bookies including an actor and a top official of a franchise, ongoing investigations and resignation of BCCI officials which can make a separate article. In my opinion a major clean up of this article will suffice rather than merging. R!j!n (talk) 06:56, 1 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose There is enough material that merits its own article. I would go a step further and ask for 2 articles. There is a need to separate spot fixing and betting. Although the media has jointly covered and projected it as a single scam, its essentially 2 cases investigated by 2 different city police. Unless there is a clear link between the 2 cases established and proven, I would suggest keeping the 2 seperate in their own articles, as each of them warrent its own article. To start with, I have moved the page title to add betting, based on the progress on the cases, we must consider splitting into 2 articles. Evano1van(எவனோ ஓருவன்) 08:11, 6 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
