Orphaned references in 2014–15 Chelsea F.C. season

edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of 2014–15 Chelsea F.C. season's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "released":

  • From 2014–15 Fulham F.C. season: "Player Departures". {{cite web}}: Text "Fulham Football Club" ignored (help)
  • From 2013–14 Chelsea F.C. season: "New Youth Scholars in Profile". Chelsea F.C. 6 July 2013. Retrieved 21 January 2014.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 19:00, 23 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

please change the transfer fee of "PATRICK VAN AANHOLT" from "FREE TRANSFER" to either "undisclosed fee" or "1.5 million pounds".

LB Netherlands Patrick van Aanholt England Sunderland Free 25 July 2014 TO LB Netherlands Patrick van Aanholt England Sunderland 1,500,000pounds 25 July 2014

here are some of the links proving that van aanholt's transfer was not a free transfer. 1. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrick_van_Aanholt#Sunderland 2. http://www.transfermarkt.com/patrick-van-aanholt/transfers/spieler/52119 3. http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/11368070.Chelsea_defender_completes___1_5m_Sunderland_move/ and many more can be found out on the net. I have made the change to undisclosed and added a source. I could not find a reliable source to support the 1.5 million pounds number, it is unlikely it will be disclosed. BoccobrockTC 18:51, 29 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

LB Netherlands Patrick van Aanholt England Sunderland Free 25 July 2014 [54] to LB Netherlands Patrick van Aanholt England Sunderland 1,500,000 25 July 2014 [54] in the transfer section. below are some of the reliable sources which confirm the following. http://www.transfermarkt.com/patrick-van-aanholt/profil/spieler/52119 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrick_van_Aanholt#Sunderland http://www.transferleague.co.uk/premiership-transfers/chelsea-transfers.html http://www.transferleague.co.uk/football-transfers/summer-2014-transfer-window.html Didierforever (talk) 14:45, 28 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

I did not put the amount, rather I placed Undisclosed, as per my comment in the request above. Thanks. BoccobrockTC 18:52, 29 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

First team squad section

edit

This should be removed as it violates WP:OR and WP:SYNTH. Specifically Position, Games Played and Goals Scored. There is no reliable source for these and as such it fails WP:V. I've removed this several times and it's always added back, so please do not re-add again. Thanks, JMHamo (talk) 15:07, 21 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Some sections should be removed (not all). Get rid of matches played, goals, transfered from and transfer year. QED237 (talk) 15:14, 21 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
Player position can be sourced from officail webpage. If they list a player as defender he is defender. QED237 (talk) 15:15, 21 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
Show me where it says that Nathan Ake can play LB/CB/DM... it's all WP:OR JMHamo (talk) 15:29, 21 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
It specifically says on the Chelsea F.C. website "he is primarily a defender who can play either in the middle or on the left, but is also comfortable in the centre of midfield. [1] I feel that when listed like this from a primary source as WP:OR states it should be allowed — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.24.205.0 (talk) 21:35, 12 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Solanke kit number

edit

Solanke wore the number 35 shirt today, think that needs updating in the new contracts section.[2] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.147.59.63 (talk) 16:06, 18 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

So many issues!

edit

This article has so many problems, I don't even know where to begin. For one thing, the tenses are all over the place, then there's all sorts of weasel words like "Chelsea legend" and "horrific challenge". I've tried to fix what I can, but this is just atrocious writing. Whoever wrote this article should be ashamed of themselves. – PeeJay 22:51, 8 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

In addition to the above observations, I think the whole article suffers from massive over-production. The month-by-month summaries and the unnecessary positional table that then accompanies it, is one of many examples. There is even the addition of the date and time of release of publication of the PL fixtures. 46.7.85.68 (talk) 20:44, 7 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Appearances table

edit

Cech made 7 league apps, Courtois 32 league apps, Izzy Brown one league app as a sub against West Brom. I'd guess there are other inaccuracies as well. 14.202.164.207 (talk) 03:59, 12 August 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 14.202.164.207 (talk) 03:57, 12 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Is Sky Sports a deprecated source?

edit

Hi, on this article, a tag against deprecated sources is called the 144th cited source, one by Sky Sports, a deprecated source. I cannot find that source at WP:RSPSOURCES (a page of a list of perennial sources and how they may be used by Wikipedians for articles), so I am unsure if I should just delete the tag or not. I want to discuss this because I have been unable to find the revision that has added this tag. CarlFilip19 (talk) 19:46, 31 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
