Merge and Rename
edit- Merge: There are three different articles covering the same topic. So please merge them all. 2014 Kashmir Floods, 2014 Pakistan floods should be merged here as they are short or stub articles.
- Rename: Jammu and Kashmir is the name of part of India administered Kashmir (IaK) while Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) has different names. In Pakistan, parts of Panjab and Gilgit affected too. So can we rename article to 2014 Kashmir region floods or simply 2014 Kashmir floods. Please express your opinion. Regards -Nizil (talk) 15:49, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
- Rename and merge Done. -Nizil (talk) 17:39, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
Page name
edit@Kristijh: why was the page moved from 2014 Kashmir floods to 2014 Pakistan - India floods? Kashmir covers all the subject region affected in the floods which are administered by both countries. (Also, if it at all has to be on that name then should be "2014 India - Pakistan floods" following alphabetic order as has been followed on numerous Indo-Pak articles.) §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 06:05, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
The page name is correct. The floods are not only affecting Kashmir but affecting at a large scale the province of Pujnab Pakistan. So the page name is correct but it need information from Pakistan. Dr. Shahid Alam(Talk to Me) 06:10, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
- @Dharmadhyaksha: I think Shahid Alam is right, but according to alphabetical order, page name should be 2014 India -Pakistan floods. @Dr. Shahid Alam: I request to may Pakistani brothers to add information about Pakistan.Prateek Malviya•✉•✎ 11:22, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
- Done Moved to 2014 India – Pakistan floods. Thanks for inputs @Prateekmalviya20 and Dr. Shahid Alam:. I have also dropped a note at Wikipedia talk:Notice board for Pakistan-related topics now for Pakistan related updation of the article. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 11:48, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
@Dharmadhyaksha: @Kristijh: @Nizil Shah: Unfortunately I am unable to add information because i am studying in Cuba and here we can´t open worlwide web. But i request other users to add updates and informaion from Pakistan as the floods are affecting Pakistani areas 10 times more than India. Users can also take help from google. - What information do you want us to add? How do you create this message without opening worldwide web? Kautilya3 (talk) 09:40, 14 September 2014 (UTC)
- When I googled for "Lahore floods" this morning, I got this hit: [1]. At 11:05 UTC, it is still the top hit. So, apparently, religious fundamentalism is the answer to everything. Kautilya3 (talk) 11:08, 14 September 2014 (UTC)
- What has that got to do with the page name? Are you proposing it be moved to 2014 Anti-Muslim floods by India? §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 11:50, 15 September 2014 (UTC)
- Eh? I was just responding to User:Dr. Shahid Alam, who asked people to enter information about the Pakistan side of the floods. When I tried to research it, I ran into the fundamentalist crap, which put me off the whole enterprise. I didn't find any support for his assertion that the Pakistani side of the floods are "10 times more than India." Kautilya3 (talk) 15:24, 15 September 2014 (UTC)
- He wasn't talking about religion either, just the two politically different land pieces. Evidently, you were the one bringing in "religion" in this discussion. If you had not found anything worthwhile about the flood effects in Pakistan about which Alam was talking, mum was the word for you. Don't create battlefields everywhere. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 05:13, 16 September 2014 (UTC)
- @Kautilya3: Wikipedia is the only site which can be opened in Cuba. Other sites have limited access. I just wanted someone to add the information abut casualties, damage, rescue operations and international reaction to the floods. In place of searching "Lahore floods" u must look for "2014 Floods in Pakistan". The purpose of my message was not bosting Pakistan or giving preference to Pakistan over India. Politically and by birth i am from Pakistan but I love India as much as i love Pakistan. @Dharmadhyaksha: Thanks for your message buddy. Its lovely from your part. Everyone know that because of the damn politics and polititions we may be separate but by hearts Indian and Pakistanis have a great love and affection for each other.Dr. Shahid Alam(Talk to Me) 03:39, 18 September 2014 (UTC)

Politics
edit@Dharmadhyaksha: I think it is wrong to credit LeT for the remark about "rescuing tourists and troops." The original remark came from Geelani, noted here: [2]. A full coverage of all the politics is here: [3]. If you do want to cover the politics (I myself don't) then please cover all sides of it. Kautilya3 (talk) 16:20, 15 September 2014 (UTC)
- The ref credits UJC's supreme commander Syed Salahuddin, "The Indian government is rescuing only tourists and their troops and the news about relief for the people of Kashmir by the Indian media is a pack of lies". That's why I added that; and I haven't credited LeT. Re-read it. If many people are saying same stuff, add their names too. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 05:09, 16 September 2014 (UTC)
