editThe following were unsourced. If a source can be found, please restore. Recife definitely did not announce its candidacy at the 2007 games.

Honduras, like other countries of Central America, has never hosted the games. Also in consideration for hosting is Tegucigalpa.
Inflated budget edit delete
editNeed an opinion from other editors. Is the below section biased as an editor claimed when removing it due to perceived bias? Note that I used CBC and Ontario's Auditor General report as sources:
There were critics that claimed the government inflated the budget[1] and Ontario's Auditor General did release a special report in 2016 that stated that the 2009 bid budget was $342 million less that the final budget.[2]
