2019 Austria Open

  • ... that at the 9-ball pool event 2019 Austria Open, Kamila Khodjaeva reached the quarter-finals, despite not playing a competitive match since 2016? "Bracket". billiardapps.com. • The sources seem to be a bit...contradictory? The article from the Salzburger Nachrichten says that she's defending her women's title (which seems to contradict the main hook proposed), and that in addition she's playing in the general division as well (which might be made up mostly of men, but it'd be wrong to say (as in ALT1) that she competed in the men's event). Hi MikeLynch - The main hook is about Kamila Khodjaeva (also known as Diana Khodjaeva), who hasn't played a match in over three years. The second is about Jasmine Ouschan, who is indeed defending her women's championship, but also played in the men's event. The SN source says (In German) "Ouschan nimmt es dabei mit den Damen und Herren auf", which a literal translation is "Ouschan takes it up with the ladies and gentlemen." Strictly speaking, the event would have to be a general class event, or women would not be entitled to play at all. Official website even says "Eurotour Men's".[7] Let me know if this isn't enough, and I'll shoot up another hook. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 13:38, 23 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
Right you are about the two different players, Lee Vilenski, I'd missed that. The main hook suggested would be good to go I'd say. For ALT1, while I get your point, it's probably better and correct to say that she competed in the women's and general events. The first hook seems good though. Enough for the first pass, on hold! The Rambling Man (Staying alive since 2005!) 11:33, 16 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Okay, happy with this now, I made a final tweak relating to giving the women's championship its own section rather than a subsection of the men's, but otherwise good to go. I'll pass, on to the next! Which would you prefer? Drop me a line. The Rambling Man (Staying alive since 2005!) 14:25, 18 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
