In the infobox on the right side, under the section 'casualties and losses', it says: 3 Bharatiya Janata Party members killed, 1 BJP driver killed.

It should be changed to: 3 Bharatiya Janata Party members killed, 1 BJP driver killed in retaliation for running over farmers with their car and killing 4 farmers.

This gives a context to the killing. Sources - [1] [2]

In the same section of 'causalities and losses', it says: 537 fatalities as of 10 July 2021 (SKU figures)

It should be changed to : 537 farmers died as of 10 July 2021 (SKU figures)

because just saying fatalities doesn't tell which group of people is being talked about. JoeBrar (talk) 07:50, 16 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

@DaxServer: I have just stated facts and given sources for it. Why, and with whom?, do I need to establish consensus when I have provided reliable sources for it. -JoeBrar — Preceding undated comment added 11:43, 17 March 2022
@JoeBrar: Your proposals "in retaliation for..." is to be covered in the body of the article, not infobox; "farmers" the source says "fatalitles" — DaxServer (t · m · c) 11:51, 17 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
@DaxServer: Then the word "killed" must also be changed to "died" in the infobox. So instead of "3 Bharatiya Janata Party members killed, 1 BJP driver killed", it should say "3 Bharatiya Janata Party members died, 1 BJP driver died". The manner in which it happened and the 4 farmers who were killed should be covered in the body. JoeBrar (talk) 11:59, 17 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hello you there? JoeBrar (talk) 17:16, 18 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi @JoeBrar. "killed" seems very apt in this context. I don't see any problem with that. The manner in which they're killed is already explained in the body which already contextually explains the "in retaliation to" phrase. Is it fair to include deaths due to heart attacks in fatalities section of infobox?

The infobox is structured in the same way Wikipedia articles on wars are, with two belligerent sides.

In this case, is it fair that we ignore cause of the death and include deaths due to heart attacks in that section?

The fatalities section of the article includes farmers who died in traffic accidents on the way to the protest. Seems bizarre to list those deaths in the casualties box. 2409:40D0:103B:6B5F:D960:5D83:867C:DBC0 (talk) 23:38, 19 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

It says the protest was violent, which is incorrect and biased information

edit

No citation for this false assertion that it was a violent protest. These inputs of false information are perceptibly done by biased agents of the central govt/ BJP IT Cell. 42.105.142.120 (talk) 03:48, 29 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Could someone change the duration of the wikipedia title? - the protest is still ongoing.
