Merge discussion was opened right after sometime and I had also hyperlinked it in the box above. Don't understand why someone started it here.--Shawnqual (talk) 23:10, 10 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Shawnqual, you are right that having a merge discussion in the target page (2020 coronavirus pandemic in Pakistan) is the right protocol. However, the "Discuss" link in the Merge banner pointed here! I suggest you change the link to the target page, and copy the comments made here to that page. That would solve the problem. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 05:52, 11 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Propose that this article be merged back to 2020 coronavirus pandemic in Pakistan.VR talk 05:15, 9 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Pharaoh of the Wizards, WP:GNG could also be used for the situation which occurred in the Taftan border area. Huge numbers of pilgrims returned from Iran via this border to Pakistan and went to their respective provinces and districts, similarly spreading the virus into the communities.--Shawnqual (talk) 23:13, 10 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
@SportingFlyer: This Ijtema has resulted in a large increase in COVID-19 cases in Pakistan so not WP:NOTNEWS IMHO . --Saqib (talk) 10:02, 15 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Support: Such an article is inherently unnecessary as it will likely be a stub compared to the main article. The place in question is neither a province nor a district of the country which could possibly warrant a separate article. The number of confirmed cases stemming from this event are counted in the provincial tallies and not separately either. It would better serve as a section in the main article. If we are to use the logic for creating this article, there must also be an article for the Taftan border situation. Also, See, WP:PAGEDECIDE -to cover a notable topic only as part of a broader page does not in any way disparage the importance of the topic and WP:REDUNDANTFORK.--Shawnqual (talk) 23:16, 10 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Likely to remain a stub? The article stands at 720 odd words. Basic assumption per WP:Stub says that anything above 250 words need not be considered one. Autowikibrowser removes the stub templates from articles that are over 500 words. This is already grown from Stub-class to start-class, so it cannot likely remain a stub. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 22:09, 16 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose Keep article. Ytpks896 (talk) 16:00, 11 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Support There were many other reasons and hotspots of virus around the world but article of each hotspot is not created yet. For Ex: The News is also circulated that pilgrims from Iran are the hotspot of spreading COVId [1], but article for that topic is not available on wikipidea but still this article created. I mean spreading of virus is by many reasons in the world but not any reason is specicifcally created here. 221.132.118.194 (talk) 14:36, 12 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose for now, can be revisited when things calm down. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 10:41, 18 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
