Title
edit2021 Oting Nagaland Massacre is not common name. Most media reports label it as a Nagaland killings. See TOI, Indian Express, The Hindu, FirstPost, The Guardian, HT, Wire, EastMojo, etc. So I am moving the title to 2021 Nagaland killings as per WP:COMMONNAME. - Nizil (talk) 06:56, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
- Also massacre can be applied only to six initial deaths. Subsequent deaths happened in rioting etc. So killings would be broader term covering all deaths.- Nizil (talk) 07:44, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
Oppose title change
There were six initial deaths.
Also it's a Massacre!:

- The page was promoted to the main page space (WP:ITN) as 2021 Nagaland killings but has been moved unilaterally without discussion by the above user to 2021 Nagaland Oting Massacre (similar to the initial 2021 Oting Nagaland Massacre which was moved prior to the ITN posting). @Liz:, @Nizil Shah: pinging the movers to look into this. The sources posted above in support of 'massacre' are regional and uncertain dailies/websites which should not really count, the international coverage uses killings (Guardian. Reuters et al). The unilateral move should be undone anyhow. Gotitbro (talk) 09:57, 8 December 2021 (UTC)

Support 2021 Nagaland killing is used by almost all major Indian newshouses and international media. Oting massacre is used by only regional news media and some websites. Also massacre applies only to six initial deaths and deaths in subsequent incident are also covered in article so broader term killings would also cover it. I have listed links of news article at the top. Regards, Nizil (talk) 15:11, 8 December 2021 (UTC)
Mistake
editCM, I have reverted your addition of "mistaken." Even the Nagaland Police is not buying Army's version of events. Claims and counterclaims shall not find place in a lead. TrangaBellam (talk) 07:40, 8 December 2021 (UTC)
