This article should not be speedy deleted as being recently created because it's not a duplicate article. It's different content. Besides that, it's not a glacial lake outburst flood as wrongly suggested in 2021 Uttarakhand flood. It's an avalanche which caused the flood. -Hatchens (talk) 15:01, 9 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hi Fowler&fowler, I would like you to take a look at this page which I have created. I wouldn't call this event a flood because... the main cause is an avalanche. However, I am ok with your call. - Hatchens (talk) 15:10, 9 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hatchens, if you think its an avalanche, you could have opted for moving the original article after achieving consensus instead of going for a new one. Now the things got messy here Kichu🐘 Discuss16:04, 9 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Hatchens: Thanks for starting this page. As I indicate below, it should probably be merged with the 2021 Uttarakhand flood page, mainly because the original cause is now on the backburner. I love the pictures you have added. Please add them to the flood page. If there is any content here that is not there (and I grant that there is not much there) please copy that as well. Once that is done, you could merge it. What we need is to write paraphrased text in that article. Fowler&fowler«Talk»16:42, 9 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
If it is an Avalanche, the original article titled as flood must be renamed after achieving consensus rather than creating a new one. Regards Kichu🐘 Discuss16:02, 9 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
I just became aware of this page. It should be merged with 2021 Uttarakhand flood. As I explain on the talk page there, the Rishiganga rises in the Nanda Devi sanctuary from meltwater. A landslide caused one of several reasons is a very likely possibility. But the main point is that it has become a disaster, by having caused a flood; the cause (whether avalanche, glacial lake outburst, or landslide) is now superseded.
